The Journal of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Community Development (JAFSCD), which published its inaugural issue, “Growing New Farmers,” in August 2010, is gearing up for its second issue and seeking to expand its pool of peer reviewers.

The JAFSCD is a peer-reviewed online publication focused on the practice and applied research interests of agriculture and food systems development professionals.  The Journal emphasizes best practices and tools related to the planning, community economic development, and ecological protection of local and regional agriculture and food systems, and works to bridge the interests of practitioners and academics.

The inaugural issue, “Growing New Farmers,” featured articles by both scholars and food systems professionals on a range of beginning farmer topics.  While the inaugural issue is currently available online for free, upcoming issues will require a subscription.  The Journal is accompanied by a separate member-only website of tools and resources for agriculture and food systems development practitioners.
