EPA Farm, Ranch & Rural Communities Committee Meets March 29-30

The Environmental Protection Agency’s Farm, Ranch & Rural Communities Committee (FRRCC) meets next Tuesday and Wednesday, March 29-30, at the Sheraton National Hotel in Arlington VA.  The 29-member Committee is a Federal Advisory Committee to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, chaired by Dr. Steven Balling with Del Monte Foods.  Larry Elworth, the Agricultural Counselor to the Administrator oversees the Committee meetings.  NSAC Senior Policy Associate Martha Noble is a member of the Committee.

The Committee, appointed for 2010-2011, is focused on developing recommendations to the EPA Administrator on agriculture and water quality issues.  The agenda for next week’s meeting is posted with other information on the FRRCC website.

Presentations at the meeting will be made on Great Lakes Water Quality Issues, West Coast Water Quality Issues (San Francisco Bay Delta and Puget Sound), and on USDA Conservation Programs.  Public comment periods are scheduled for 4:45 pm on Tuesday and 1:30 on Wednesday.
