National Organic Certification Cost Share Program Releases 2011 Report to Congress

The National Organic Program (NOP) has released its 2011 Organic Certification Cost Share Program Report to Congress.

The report contains full information for Fiscal Year 2010 on the number of participating states, the number of producers and handlers the program served, and expenditures.  Read our earlier blog post for an analysis of FY 2010 for the the National Organic Certification Cost Share Program (NOCCSP) and the Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) Program.

The report also provides information on states that signed up to be part of the program in Fiscal Year (FY) 2011:

  • Forty-nine states, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands are enrolled in at least one of the cost share programs for FY 2011.
  • For the FY 2011 Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) program, $1.495 million will be allotted for cost share assistance.
  • For the FY 2011 National program, $5.263 million has been allotted to the participating States for the period October 1, 2010, through September 30, 2011.
  • Total program funds allotted in FY 2011 for both cost share programs are $6.758 million.
