On Thursday, September 27, the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) will host a webinar at 1 p.m. (EDT) on how the NRCS Conservation Practice Standards can help organic farmers and ranchers meet the National Organic Program‘s (NOP) regulations for biodiversity conservation.
The webinar will feature a panel of three speakers, all with extensive experience in conservation and organic farming, including Jo Ann Baumgartner – director of the Wild Farm Alliance; Jim Riddle – founding chair of the International Organic Inspectors Association, and Tom Broz of Live Earth Farm.
Each panelist will provide examples of practices used by organic farmers to maintain or enhance natural resources on their operations that can enhance biodiversity.
NCAT is broadcasting the webinar, which is funded in part by a Conservation Innovation Grant awarded to NCAT and other NSAC member organizations by USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service.
