New SARE Handbook on Multifarm CSAs
April 7th, 2010
This Monday, April 5, the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SARE) released a handbook on cooperative marketing for community supported agriculture farms (CSAs). The 130-page manual gives concrete details on strategies for forming and maintaining a multifarm CSA, including advice on staffing, volunteer boards, distribution, and legal topics.
This guide is one of the many publications available from SARE Outreach, which features research, practical guides, and other tools related to sustainable production systems and marketing practices.
Some other recently released publications include:
- Land & Power: Sustainable Agriculture and African Americans,
- Building Soils for Better Crops, 3rd Edition, and
- People of the Land: Sustaining American Indian Agriculture in
Idaho, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.
NSAC continues to support SARE by advocating for the administration’s proposal of $30 million in funding for the program in 2011. To keep up to date on how you can help support programs like SARE, sign up for our action alerts.
