CAMPAIGNS

The National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC) recently completed its fourth federal farm bill campaign, which culminated on May 22, 2008 with the new farm bill, the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008. We are now engaged in the equally important farm bill implementation campaign. For the most up-to-date farm bill implementation action items or to sign up to receive more information about this campaign, please visit Take Action.

Each year, NSAC is also engaged in the annual appropriations campaign effort where it fights to protect funding for important sustainable agriculture and organic programs. Given the presidential elections in 2008, action on the FY 2009 appropriations bill will resume in early 2009, at the same time that the campaign for FY 2010 appropriations will begin.

Stay tuned to the Take Action page for action items related to NSAC’s work on farm bill implementation, annual appropriations, and other legislative campaigns including the Child Nutrition Reauthorization Act.

Finally, NSAC’s non-legislative campaign is to ensure that its member organizations are building their capacity to do effective grassroots organizing and outreach. We encourage you to find out more about how to get involved in an NSAC member organization.
